Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah joined the party, picking up wickets regularly. Even the lone spin over from Axar Patel resulted in a wicket, thanks to a fantastic catch by himself!
Ireland just couldn’t get going, and were eventually bowled out for a meager 96 runs in 16 overs. Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers, taking two wickets for just 6 runs in his 3 overs. Pandya also had a great outing with 3 wickets for 27 runs.
Chasing a small target, India lost Virat Kohli early, but Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant took control. Rohit smashed a brilliant 52 runs off just 37 balls before retiring hurt.
Pant continued his aggressive batting and finished the match in style with a reverse scoop six, scoring an unbeaten 36 off 26 balls. India won the match comfortably by 8 wickets with almost 8 overs to spare!
